The Bombay High Court today set aside the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Board’s ‘best of five’ system for admission to Standard XI, saying it discriminated against students from other boards. The best of five system was introduced by the SSC Board this year. It provides that of six subjects, the marks obtained in the five that a student has fared best in would be taken into account on the Class X mark list. The subject in which a student fared worst would be left out.
